I have
been sewing ever since I can remember. I was sewing doll clothes
by hand before I could use a machine. The first thing I actually
made on the sewing machine and wore at age eleven, was a pair of
purple bellbottoms! I grew up thinking everyone owned a sewing machine
and could sew. What a shock it was to find I was one of the only
mommies in the 70's and 80's who mended the holes in her kids socks.
I worked
in the Bridal Industry in New Jersey with Designer June Fino of
Fino Fashions. I learned pattern making and fitting techniques from
her. As an artist, my specialty and love is hand embroidery and
beading.
My
first show was The New York Renaissance Fair. That was 1989, and
I've been there every summer since. In 1993 I moved to Florida and
started doing shows here as well. But I always look forward to my
time in New York each summer.
Thanks again for stopping by, Christine.
